Mobile crane stability checks are becoming more important as buildings need their equipment replaced and the streets are narrow. Crane companies have designed cranes to operate in narrow streets but in London there are many below ground risks to be aware of. These can take the form of vaults beneath the pavement, important services, basements and even railway tunnels and bridges.
Keeping ground pressures down is the key and making sure adjacent structures are not surcharged or worse damaged by a heavy crane being parked in the road.
